I am trying to create a new website for our gaming clan. Having previously only used html and a bit of Java I am completely lost with php programming. I have been able to get a news posting section for our main page, but wanted to create other pages that could be edited with ease.
Our members page format is what I'd like but I can't quite work out how to make it so I can easily edit any of the Player profiles individually, does any one have any ideas for a novice.New website members page.
I also would like to create a clan war page that could be updated by simply posting the results and screenshot pic links and details of war which could then be formatted automatically so I ended up with something similar to our Old website clan war page.
I have access to Mysql on this web server, should I use that and php?
I greatly appreciate any help/advice that is given. As I said I am a complete noob to this but am very willing to learn. Thanks in advance.
Do you have Server side includes? There is a book called PHP and MySQL Web Development you might want to check out. I haven't begun to weed through it just yet, but it might give you some ideas. Go to a book store and sit down and look through it and see if it's something you would be interested in.
