Learn your craft and reach the level of "confident".
Be honest. If you don't know, say so. You will be respected for that.

If you step on me once, shame on you.
If you step on me twice, shame on me.

If you're not riding the wave of change, you'll find yourself beneath it.

If I fall off a sky scraper, wont I hit the ground instead?

I mean, if I'm going to hit the FLOOR after falling off the sky scraper, then I really SHOULD be scared.

I don't see the connection. Being consistent and being impetuous are two unrelated traits.
You can get an average amount done on a daily basis and be consistent at doing it. You can also pick to avoid doing it on a daily basis and wait till' the day of regret to do-it-all-at-once. Whatever the case, it is better to be consistent because the do-it-all-at-once most-always has a price.
