    Flash Development

    Hi,

I'm completely new to flash and was wondering what software is needed. I've seen Flash MX from adobe but that it really expensive.

Is there something cheaper (or even free) that you can develop flash with or is Flash MX the only option?

    Thanks for any help.

what do you mean by using FLASH? flash applications can only be developed in flash. If you are talking about creating animation as are done in flash then another application can be used which is "swish" which is a bit cheaper than adobe flash.

    Ok thanks for the info.

I was meaning things like games using actionscript and the like so I guess from said Flash MX is the only software to use.

You could transition to Flex. Adobe provides a free command line compiler for Flex applications.
