How is my gaming clan site / am I good enough to make websites for $?

I just finished my gaming clan site. I am open to any suggestions. I wanted to know if I would be able to make money by making websites for other people/companys.

You over use the gradient effect, thus making your website look tacky. The design structure is pretty much generic from other game/clan website. On the news box, add some padding to give the text seperation.

I also notice you use &nbsp to add spacing which could be done cleanly with css.

You can make money, but I recommand that you don't start taking client until you get better. I notice that you design your website either with fp or dw. A good way to improve your skill is to hand write your own code.

I'm using joomla with a lot of changes I put in to include what I want. I have done a lot of html stuff in the past, but once introduced to cms I really couldn't go back to old fasion handtyping html when there was so much to offer in cms and so much easier. I use dreamweaver to code the modules and components. I've never and will never make a site using frontpage or dreamweaver... I hate those sites. Thanks for the input. Now that I look at it I should change the spacing in the articles and the login block. I wanted to create the site to look similar to www.u5-gaming.com or www.complexityclan.com, but I don't know what they use to make their sites. They probably created their own cms and use it for all of the sites they create.

    Keep the suggestions coming please.

The most fun part about making websites is the making part! (Duh)
You shouldn't really try and make money from websites if you are doing it through a CMS. Generally, they'd be paying you for something you hadn't actually entirely done.

Well from past experience I'm quite sure I can develope my own cms which I would use... I wouldn't use another and sell it...

Plus I did do a lot on this site. All the flash, graphics, design is done by me. I did more work then you would see on any other well put together plain html site, but because what I wanted was so demanding I had to have some help. You make it sound like all I did was edit a myspace page... give me a little credit...
