    Real price for domains

Hi, I have had several websites in the past (with free hosts) but this is my first time that I decided to buy good hosting and a domain name. Now, I have already decided on a name and checked that it's not taken, however I have a couple of questions that I'm still confused about even after reading the stickies and everythign I googled up.

1.) All these websites offer domain registrations ranging from $5 to $15, but one of the sources that I don't remember (could be internic.net) claims that actual registration itself is $70 for 2 years and $35/year afterwards bypassing any resellers. Does that mean that if I register a domain through a site that offers it for $5, I will actually pay $75 ($70+$5)? How come no one mentions this additional $70, to me it seems more important than the tiny $5-$15 that comes with it? Is that $70 only applicable in certain cases?

2.) Say my .com website becomes popular and attracts lots of visitors. I wouldn't want anyone to register the .net version of my domain and use it for porn or try to resell it back to me for more. So I'm planning to buy .net as well. In that case, should I also buy www. versions of both (total of 4 domain names) or do I receive those automatically? And finally, if there really is a $70 additional fee that one of the sources mentioned, do I pay that for every domain name or just the first one I register to my name?

    Thanks.

    Real price for domains

    Hi,

    1. "I will actually pay $75 ($70+$5)?" No, all companies sale the same domain names. You can register domain at GoDaddy. The price about $8 + if you want the private registration (protect your personal information), about $7.

    2. You have one way to save .net domain, buy it. www domain you'll receive automatically. There is no additional fee. .com domain + .net domain will cost about $15. And you can save a few $ with hosting coupons.

    Alex Webs,
Register Domain Name Step by Step
