    resolved [RESOLVED] Domain Name Question

    Hello all,

I'm seeking some advice on claiming a domain from one of these 'holding websites'. The company I'm developing for is www.air-blah.com, but they now want to register www.airblah.com (No hyphen).

At the moment, airblah is one of these holding pages, and does not have any client details for me to contact them. I've tried going through enom (the domain registrar) though they want me to bid for it using another site, starting at $200!

Are there any other options available to me in this? Or is it a case of biting the bullet and having to bid towards a domain name not being used.

    Thanks

Well, it looks like that is the way the domain name holder has it set up, they are trying to sell it. So you can bid for it or wait and see if it eventually expires next Feb 2008 (when it's up).

If the company behind http://www.air-blah.com in the UK can prove trademark rights through a registation or usage of Air blah, then they can file an UDRP complaint and get the domain via that dispute resolution process.

If in fact it's a generic name for which they have no rights (which seems to be the case), pay the $200 before one of your competitors does.
