does anyone know how i can get a better page rank?my site shows at the top of some searches but not for others and it seems to go from a 1 to a 2 then back to a 1

to get good pr, one of the important things is to get backlinks from good pr pages which are related to your site's theme

Page Rank is not popular today, I can advice you to pay your attention to SERPS, it's much more effective than PR.
