Software to make thumbnails

Hi all,

I´m searching a software (free if possible) for make a thumbnail from a webpage.

Alexa websearch (www.alexa.com) is using this tecnology. For example, if we search google, there are in the result a thumbnail of the webpage.

The are any software capable of generating these images?

I´m looking a software than can generate a thumbnail from a webpage. For example,

./genthumbnail http://www.google.com

Result: google.gif

The final destination of these images hasn´t importance for me.

Is it that you want a thumbnail of the website itself? A small image of the web page?
