Linkbot Pro 4.0: The Best Gets Better (Part 3)

By David Fiedler More features...and oldies but goodiesDeep Thoughts: Do your visitors know where your pages are buried? A new report tells you which pages are hard to get to from your home page, by counting the number of "clicks" (which is configurable) it would take to reach them. Your site is history: Linkbot now keeps a record of previous runs, so you can quickly see trends, such as whether broken links are getting better or worse. You can also track broken pages by individual authors, so you know who to praise (or complain about). Scan this: Linkbot can now read your access and error log files. This lets it report the number of hits for each page or graphic. This isn't as useful as you might think, since it doesn't include this information in saved reports. More importantly, scanning the error log allows Linkbot to catch 404s that have been detected by the server during the period that the log covers, which might help find extra or intermittent errors.
