Visio Professional 5.0, Part 3

By Scott Clark Diagram Your Web Site! The tool allows the developer to drag and drop the "URL shapes" onto the diagram window, creating icons that represent links, multimedia, graphics, etc. URL shapes feature built-in connectors which connect the links back to the page from which they originated. When you are finished, you will have created a Web site diagram that in many ways resembles an organization chart. The shapes on the Web Diagram stencil are designed to make planning and revising the structure of a Web site easy and convenient. Visio Professional 5.0 also includes a built-in Web browser that enables the user to open a page and view it directly from within the diagram by simply clicking on the element or page icon. If you want to make a diagram of a current Web site, Visio Professional 5.0's Web Diagram Wizard will make the task a snap. The wizard analyzes your Web site and then generates a diagram (Figure 2) which shows the relationships between the pages and links. The user is able to define how many levels the wizard will search, a maximum number of links, etc.
