a Tuesday feature
For the last two columns of the year (yes it is almost over), we're going to look at some of the many holiday-related Shockwaves on the Internet. Here is how we will break down each of the last two columns. Looking Forward to the Holidays with Shockwave

"Holiday Shockwave Games Sites"
Next week we'll look at some of the best holiday Shockwave games sites. We will also provide some information about how each site was created by looking at some of the details of the site(s), for example:
- Shockwave tools
- Special techniques
- Lingo (where available)

"Holiday Shockwave Sites"
This week we'll focus on just basic holiday Shockwave sites. Again, we'll be looking at some of the tools, techniques, and code used in the creations of these holiday classics. In this column we may even have a special "Christmas Eve" Shockwave surprise. Who knows what Santa will drop off early for all of the good little readers and columnist.

"Readers Choice for Holiday Shockwave Site(s) of the Year"
This week we look to our readers for their input. Starting this week, I'll be taking your votes for the best Holiday Shockwave sites in the following categories. Each category will be divided into corporate, individual, and nonprofit organizations, depending on which one of these entities created the Shockwave:
- Holiday Shockwave Games
- Holiday Shockwave Seasons Greetings
- Overall Holiday Shockwave Site of the Year
Regarding rules and prizes, I'm currently working with some potential sponsors and should have something solid about any potential prizes by next week's column. As for rules, follow these criteria:
1. Make sure the sites are available on the Internet for everyone else to see. Don't laugh, many of you have sent me your Shockwave files directly via e-mail in the past. Please don't do that this time; instead, send the URL in an e-mail message.
2. Verify the site will be available through the end of the month. When the winners are picked we will want to link to them so that everyone can see what makes them so great. We will also have some "Internet Celebrity" judges to help pick the winners in each category. Until next week . . .
