I’m using an <iframe> tag that contains .Net UserControls with predetermined code. In IE it looks normal but in FireFox the format is different Also when trying to browse on my phone the contents of the <iframe> do not display… any ideas
@KorOct 30.2006 — #As far as I know, only Netscape 4.x does not support inline frames. There should not be any reasons for a page to look different in IE and other modern browser, except maybe if you have used some styles or attributes unsupprted by Moz.
If the browser of your phone is based on Netscape 4.x (or is build based on similar old Gecko core) yes, you might not be able to see iframes.
@Mr_Initial_ManOct 30.2006 — #You have no guarentee of frames or iframes working. Opera gives you an option that allows you to turn off frames and iframes. Browsers for phones may well adapt to the lessened computing power of phones by not displaying frames or iframes. Remember, these are old technologies that were deemed failures by the W3C.
Also, browsers for blind people may not allow for iframes.
If you have iframes, have backup content to allow for those who do not/cannot use them.
@KravvitzOct 31.2006 — #Among desktop graphical web browsers all of the common ones newer than NS4.x support iframes. However, that does not guarantee they will work on mobile devices or less common browsers.
