Reload JavaScript function on a timer

I want to automatically reload a function every x seconds without having to do a meta refresh of the page. Is this possible? Thanks in advance!

@mrhooNov 29.2007 — reload the same function's source code, or just call it?

<i>
</i>function thisFunction() {
[do something]
setTimeout("thisFunction()",5000); // time in milliseconds; this is 5 seconds
}

Then you can either a) refer to that function at the bottom of the <script> tag, or b) load it through the <body onLoad="thisFunction();"> param.
