@mohitch1Aug 29.2018 — Here are 3 easy fixes to start with to improve your website's speed.

  • 1. Optimize Images

Images play a critical role in websites. Your homepage should lead with high-quality images to capture attention, but they can drag down your site speed. If you aren’t displaying them in full size then you should scale them appropriately to reduce your page load times. For example, an image that is 1000 x 1000 pixels but is only displayed at 100 x 100 pixels needs to load 10x more than necessary, which impacts load times.

  • 2. Use a Simple Website Design

  • Simplifying your website’s design can increase your site speed. One reason for this is because it reduces the number of HTTP requests your website needs to make to load. An HTTP request is made for all the different elements that make up your website, including JavaScript, CSS and image files. As you reduce the number of elements on your website, the number of requests go down, impacting load times.

  • 3. Enable Caching

  • Once your website is set up for caching, visitors will store the elements of your website on their hard drive in a cache or temporary storage. The next time they visit your site, their browser can load the page without needing to send all those HTTP requests to the server.

@NogDogAug 30.2018 — You improve speed by finding out what is slow, and then fixing it. This means you need to _measure_ first, then fix. There are tools you can find to measure things from the client side to find out which resources take longest, but you may also need to put some measurement instrumentation into your server-side code, look at its logs and the database logs, and so on if the slowness is on that end.

Or, you can just try random suggestions and hope some of them help.

@pavanearSep 01.2018 — In reality, 47% of users expect websites to ready in two seconds or less — and 40% will drop a page that uses three or extra moments.

This suggests that if your website gets higher than three seconds to place, you spend the most portion of your companies before they also appear on your site.

And for the companies that choose to hold around, your heavy load conditions can prevent them from reoccurring in the expectation. In one study, 79% of consumers stated they would not revert to a place with lower production. some steps to consider to reduce speed

    Minimize HTTP requests

    Minify and combine files

Use asynchronous loading for CSS and JavaScript files

    Defer JavaScript loading

Think you just contradicted yourself there...

Defer loading if you like but loading Async... is fine but you can't do both to the same script, its either async or defer not both.

    Hello Adam ,

website speed has become a very important aspect for any web page , according to some recent surveys having a web page loading time above 2 seconds will make the customers to lure away to some more faster and more innovative competitors . so having a site with a quick responsive time is necessity now.

    Some quick points

    1. having a low or minimum HTTP requests .

    2. combining HTML , java scripts file .

    3. skipping or sometimes deferring big file from loading in java scripts.

    4. working on your servers response time .

    5. reducing image size or using low resolution files .

    6 . having lower plugins

I hope this will help you .

@olidevSep 05.2018 — For things other than server response time, you can get an idea by using any performance checking tool, like webpagetest, google page speed insight or Google Lighthouse. The basic things are:

    Image optimization

Asset minification, like JS and CSS

    Using CDN

    Enable Caching

Fact is, your site speed depends on many things, best you can do is optimise your code and images and media to take up the least amount of space, thats about all you can do to speed up your website delivery, most easiest way of all is to not use libraries / frameworks / widgets or any site helper tool and craft the code by hand for each page you need and only publish pages with minimal demands on the internet and your site issues will be reduced as much as you possibly can.
