Hi.. Need help for onpage seo .

I will do onpage seo for new client …For this that wordpress site we install the yoast seo plugin.
That plugin is not supported by word press ..after installing any seo plugin the site gets http error..
developer said that wordpress is old version that is not supported by seo plugins..
How we can solve this issue and how can install seo plugins to that old version site?
