I am looking to develop a system that is used in a kiosk mode, so just on a screen that is out of reach with no interactivity. I want it to be like a full screen slideshow where I can define the content and duration somewhere (a text file would suffice to start with) – to be able to show images, local web pages, streamed video (autoplaying until end of clip or specific duration). I don’t care about transitions – it can just flick to the next page.
Any pointers as to the best architecture to investigate? I’m a C++ programmer but not touched web dev for many years so I’m afraid my limited old-school knowledge at the moment points me to just filling an iframe with some content and changing it on a timer – I think there are probably more modern ways though
