Is there a law about cookies?

Hello. I work on coding a blog. Questions:

1) Is there a law saying that there has to be a kind of a button of asking for allowing the use of cookies when a user visits a blog for the first time?

2) I do not intend to use cookies at all. Do I still have to ask for the permission from the user?

codewitch I agree with coothead. Different browsers have different terms and conditions which you should read. If your intention not to use cookies at all, so you should declare the user is safe on your website and there is no harm for them.

Laws vary a lot by location, so a generic answer would not work here. If you're in the EU, or serving content to residents of the EU, you should take a look at the new GDPR released. Otherwise, not really something you have to worry about.

Hello. I live in a country that is an EU member. My target group are people from the whole Earth.

I intend to use Google Analytics. This service already uses cookies.

I want to respect the law and I intend to do everything so that it is according to the law.

I still don't know what to do to be honest. Maybe there is some kind of company, that provides help to people in the same situation as me...

There certainly is, and it's called a Law Firm. Particularly, one that specializes in digital policy. Find someone in your country who specializes in this topic, taking legal advice from someone on the internet is a slippery slope.

There are fees to pay every month. The solution is not simple to code for someone, who is not a professional programmer.

The cloudflare solution is not enough. It just informs a user that cookies are used.

According to how I understand the EU law, there has to be a software installed that disables the use of all cookies until the user clicks on a button "I agree with the use of cookies". In addition to that a website owner has to be able to provide a database of these events (user clicking on the mentioned button) when a governmental agency asks for it.

As I wrote before, I cannot accomplish that with my current coding skills.

(I am not a lawyer, the info in this post I have read on the Internet.)
