I have used Magento before, I would say in my option magento has never been easy, its always been resource hog, harder to fix issue, a lot more complicated to use and customise it maybe perfect for large sites due to all the features them having the funds to work with it but for normal people I would never use it again unless things have changed a lot it which is a mistake that has cost me over the years.

I have thought about platforms like shopify and bigcommerce but I cant see any benefits at this point unless they do something outside the basic site building which ive not noticed yet.

Hay 2013, Is that your name or your year of birth, then you are too, you're to start your e-commerce store, Lol.

However, half of your decision is right that you are choosing Wordpress, But I think by choosing woocommerce with Wordpress, you can make your decision 100% right.

However, you can use plugins like the [referral system](https://codup.co/referral-system-for-woocommerce/) to make your woocmmerce store more effective.

You're absolutely right. At least coding error and everything has to be redone.

@rickmachtMay 21.2020 — When it comes to eCommerce, then I always recommend to use woocommerce, Woocommerce is one of the easiest e-commerce platforms that any can use and develop an e-commerce website by installing [essential woocommerce plugin](https://www.reviewsed.com/best-woocommerce-plugins/)s as well as you can enjoy unlimited free features of WordPress with woocomerce.

@chrisjonesJun 30.2020 — Glad to hear your mom is doing well. I recently checked a lot of online stores and most of them had one problem or the other. I am currently considering[ SwiftKart](https://www.techosquare.com/swiftkart ) to build it. It has everything I was looking for in an online store (things Wordpress and Openkart didn’t deliver).

Swiftkart is delivering me a responsive and SEO ready online store that’s secure, multilingual, and scalable. I won’t be paying a monthly fee and neither will I be paying a payment processing fee. It’s a one-time payment deal.

Overall, I found swift-kart.com to be a powerful platform to start an online store. The best thing is I will be buying the online store software under their special offer that is giving me a 50% discount. The offer is not live yet but if you will email them, they will totally entertain you.

Wish your mother good luck for her new online store.

Success!
