Idea on learning HTML&CSS in real-life projects

Hello!

for a few days now I have this itsy bitsy idea that I consider really good (but it’s subjective I guess). I’ve been thinking about different approaches to learning coding/programming as I’ve finished some video/interactive courses on HTML/CSS but still lack the basic idea of how it works in *real* development. I started learning Python as well but it’s gonna be a long run until I’ll be able to actually do something useful with it.

**So, it’s actually a simple thought:**
You, experienced developer, get a project. You send me some kind of request, let’s say “Hey, I need you to help me make a header for this webpage following these rules so I can focus on something else instead”. I’ll do my best to complete the task and you can then either use it, edit it or leave it.

The idea behind this is that you would **still** have to make the header, so why not have someone else (me?) try and do it just for a little feedback from you? (up to you)

As my skills progress I know I will be able to help you with more and more stuff, which means less and less work for you for the same reward – obviously, I’ll want to stand on my own feet one day, maybe cooperate with someone who’s been sending me all those tasks? **wink wink** (up to me and up to you)

I also really like design in general and believe you could find me useful in that matter, too.

I think you don’t really have anything to lose and that in general, it is a great way to help each other out!

Let me know what you think. πŸ™‚

@tracknutAug 04.2020 β€”Β You're underestimating the amount of time and energy it takes to deal with a novice, unfortunately. And for most people, farming out the "make me a header" is not going to be the flow they have for development anyway.

I suggest just jumping in on a project that seems interesting and manageable, and if you have trouble finding answers, come here and ask. Put your baseball collection into a web site, store your recipes, make a fan page for Pink Floyd, put up maps of your favorite hiking places ... whatever is interesting to you.

@MisanAug 07.2020 β€”Β Actually, people regularly do this with open source projects. There you can pick a task and work on it. Surely, there are also plenty of projects that fit your needs and wants.

I'd be willing to give you a raw direction. I am involved in plenty of open source projects that also welcome newcomers to bring in their ideas or just flex their skills :)

Got Telegram? Discord? Any other method to reach you?

Best,

Martin

@VITSUSAAug 08.2020 β€”Β @_FW#1621780 I think you should join any IT Company as a fresher where you can learn so many things as well as focus on live projects. In this platform, people can help you but not focus on your work. When you work in an IT company then you will learn about their culture, working strategy, latest trends etc...from them, and it will help in your career growth.

@ravikumar11Aug 28.2020 β€”Β It's a general question that most of the beginner developers ask. I would say to start with Freecodecamp. You will get many beginner's projects on it which will help you to learn HTML & CSS.

@NaheedSep 02.2020 β€”Β @_FW#1621780 I would recommend starting with your personal portfolio page. It will help you to experiment with HTML/CSS. You will also gain a tool that will help you to build your credibility as a web developer. I will also suggest Thefirehoseproject as it helps you in developing the portfolio site.
