@NogDogAug 12.2020 — Outside of personal preferences, I don't think either is particularly better than the other; but if I had to choose between them, I'd go with PHP -- unless there was some reason I wanted/had to be working in a Microsoft environment (Windows Server, .NET, MS SQL, etc.). Otherwise I'd prefer to build/run a web app in a more open-source environment (e.g. a Linux/Apache/MySQL stack, or Linux/Nginx/PostgreSQL, and so forth).

@HarshShahAug 13.2020 — When the business deals with tons of data, it will better to use ASP.NET. But if it an open small size project, PHP will be an excellent match. PHP is an open-source programming language that does not require paid tools or licenses.

ASP.NET code executes a lot faster compared to PHP when it's built-in Release mode, optimized, cached, etc etc. ...

Both the platforms provide security features to the developers however ASP.NET has built in security features such as SQL injection.

@VITSUSAAug 14.2020 — @mbirhatgemsiz#1622059 ASP.NET is better suited for large and medium-sized organizations whereas PHP is better equipped to serve start-up and small-sized organizations. ASP.NET being paid has a decent market share in the IT world whereas PHP being open source, is freely available to the developers has a higher market share than ASP.NET.

In ASP.NET vs PHP, Both ASP.NET vs PHP works efficiently, given the business case and required functionality suites to their taste. Both ASP.NET vs PHP have their own set of pros and cons. It is the developer’s skills and business case requirement which would decide the usage of these technologies.

@alaistergatesAug 17.2020 — I would suggest you to go with [PHP development](https://tas.co.in/service/php/).

As you know php is easy to learn, extremely flexible, easy integration and capability, cost efficient and it gives web developer more control.

ASP.Net is a derived product from Active Server Pages by Microsoft, along with the support of .net programming language, used for web application development. PHP is a general-purpose server-side scripting language from Rasmus Lerdarf that can be expanded as Hypertext PreProcessor, which is also used for web application development. ASP.Net can be purchased as a paid licensed product and can be used for medium to large-sized enterprise applications. On the other hand, PHP is available free of cost as an open-source product and can be used only for small to medium-sized web applications.

@marksmith121Aug 28.2020 —
  • 1. PHP is one of the widely used scripting languages, and developers are addicted to it. On the other hand, we have ASP.NET language that has Microsoft as its backup bearer and can be operated across any .NET supported language.

  • 2. It is not a new fact that PHP is free of cost, and as you know ASP.Net is a Microsoft product and hence comes with certain charges.

  • 3. Integrated development environment is one of the most important factors that need to be considered from the perspective of cost-effectiveness. As you might be aware, ASP.Net development is executed using the IDE, Visual Studio. A free version of the IDE is offered by Microsoft, which is referred to as the VS Express. It might be an ideal choice for beginners, though professional experts look for something more challenging. PHP can be supported by numerous IDEs available for free and paid as well, and can be run on Linux web hosting and can be used with Windows or MAC.

  • 4. When it comes to the scalability factor, we can find that both PHP and ASP.Net are highly scalable. It depends on how proficient the developer is when using either of them.
