I have seen that there are so many websites which are on a risk of hacking when they start getting traffic on them. So I would like to know that how we can protect a word press website from being hacked. Is there any free plugin or any other permanent solution available. I am the owner of Technical Knowledge in Hindi blog and searching for the solution for my blog
Sanjot719 Don't trust on free things because there is a more chance of hacking. Try to use a paid third-party platforms, plugins, etc...As an owner you know you can not blame-free things if your data goes to hack.
Make sure you dont have any inactive plugins that you dont use, and always update your plugins. Some malwares might stick to them, so try to keep them "alive". And also, delete those plugins that are not used and you do not plan onto using them anytime soon.. not only it will release data and page speed will be better, but also by that you make sure no malware attacks them.
Work only with good hosts, take your wp-config.php file and move it to a higher level than your root directory, disable directory listing with .htaccess, protect the wp-admin directory and use SSL to encrypt data. However, with that being said, probably equally as important as security is website performance.

Work only with reliable, high quality, and safe hosting, protect wp-config.php file, disallow file editing, set directory permission carefully, block all hotlinking, use two-factor authentication.
