Just joined up to ask for pointers towards some good tutorials in developing a website for a very small online shop (selling some artwork). Now the easy solution would be a fully integrated builder such as square space, webflow or wix. But the monthly payments of these are a little higher than we would like to commit to.
I have a background in UX, and an ok working knowledge of working with frontend code (Html, css and java) to create simple webpages. I need help with integrating this with a backend and payment gateway.
I'll need to build a simple admin page where we can add/edit/remove products, see past orders etc. I guess this will be linked either to a small database (or maybe it's so small I can just use json?) Then I'll need to integrate paypal (or stripe I guess) to the checkout. Complete with error codes and all the security requirements of handling people's card data.
I'm pushing my skills a bit here but I'd like to learn anyway so any help would be greatly appreciated. The key thing is keeping costs down. Ideally I'd like to just be paying our domain/hosting fees and whatever percent that the payment gateway takes.
Thanks in advance, looking forward to seeing what you all can offer.
