Several years ago I took a non-credit class “Creating Mobile Apps with HTML5” from a community college in NC through a program called Ed2Go. One would build an app using web technologies (HTML, CSS, and Javascript.) Think of the apps as mini-web sites. Then, all the files associated with the app: html, css, javascript, images, icons, xml config etc… are zipped and submitted to AdobePhone Gap where they are translated to an APK file which can be run on any android device. The APK file along with other specifications can be placed on the Google Play Store. I have never seen any references to this process in this forum and wonder if anybody here does this.

@bwclovisFeb 05.2021 — I'll try to answer you and not spam you for your business, lol. I remember phoneGap, tried it and didn't like it for... reasons I guess? For me I never understood why , if a web page was done properly it shouldn't "just work" on devices. I guess the appeal is to have it in the app store, icon on phone screen, etc. BUT, now we can leverage Progressive Web Apps, which when set up properly can bypass any bonus from using a tool like phone gap and gives a web page "native app" features. I found this to be a better solution as now, if set up properly, the PWA manifest and cache can do all the lifting and all I have to worry about is ONE site. No "Oh I made an update, let me re compile for PhoneGap and...." whatever steps were next ( I forget to be honest).

Success!
