Google Search New Feature 2021

Google announced it is rolling out a new feature that will communicate to searchers, before they click on the result, more information about that search result snippet they are looking at. This is an “about this result” box that can be triggered if the searcher taps on the three dots on the right top corner of the search result snippet.

@dogonthetableJun 29.2021 — This is just another way for Google to keep all the search traffic instead of sending it to other sites.

A more alarming feature this year is the weighting now given to Core Web Vitals as a ranking indicator. There's a hell of a lot of work to be done to score well on these metrics.

Will be interesting to see studies on correlation between low scoring sites and rank drops in the months and years ahead.
