Website Builder Software Legalities.

Hi all, I’ve a question. Im going to build a simple website using (not sure) which software or wizzard, but my question is, after I am done building my site and publish, am I still technically using “their” software?, …or at that point is it just a bunch of code belonging to me?

I ask also in requards to moving the website to a different host (will it still be compatable) or if the website builder software company I used do not like the content on my website, can they say I’m no longer allowed to have a website built with their software?

If this is my own answer, than can anyone here recomend a free speech loving web host with site builder wizzard where in you actually own the finished source code to your site?

As your link pointed out, there are some parts that you own and some parts you have to "rent". Space, domain and rights.

Using Wix or similar vendor you may experience some difficulties to "move" your site to another vendor. As you are trapped into their property.

You will get the maximum freedom and almost full ownership if you "rent" an own VPS (not a regular web hosting). On this VPS you can build your own website using open source. But this is however a way higher threshold that may or may not be worth the effort. I have done this journey and I found it worthy because I learned a lot.

I just wanted to create a simple website ''business card''. The main issue I had is designing the footer because I did not have any ideas on how to create it so it would look nice on my website. Those, I found a link with cool best ideas footer designs. There I took an example and made a nice footer for my website. Hope soon I will learn HTML and CSS and will create it using my knowledge.
