Does email marketing really helps in SEO efforts?

Hello there,
we have custom logo designing website. Now we are working on its SEO to improve its ranking and PA & DA. However, I have been assigned to work on email marketing which we have never done before. So I wanted to ask, does email marketing really helps in SEO efforts? How can i learn more about it? Or is it possible to do our-self or should we go for the expert services?
