CNAM as www

So I redirect www to non www domain.

Now a developer tells me he can not make cloudfront show www.example.com/image.jpg

he says it must be some other subdomain.

Is that true?

so best option would be just example.com/image.jpg

I did it this way:

  • 1. Added www as a subdomain at my regular DNS provider.

  • 2. Forward ns (name server) records from my regular DNS vendor to Cloudflare

  • 3. Add A records (Not CNAME) for both my domain and www (as a subdomain) pointing to my web server's IP-address

  • 4. Redirect at my web server either Apache (.htaccess) or Nginx (default) from www to my domain (without www)
