[FONT=Arial]Linda Munschauer, Buffalo, NY Artist... Website advice WELCOME!!!
I will try not to bore you!!!! Linda's professionally prepared (but incomplete) Website can be viewed at http://www.LINDAMUNSCHAUER.COM . She was advised to hire a professional designer and did so even though she has barely enough money to live on. Of course, I am sure the majority of people these days are in a similar position, so please know this is not a "cry poor" story. We all agreed that a Website was a great way to display her artwork because when Linda showed her paintings at June's ALLENTOWN ART FESTIVAL, within days offers came in for her paintings. Mind you, not being able to afford a prime site at the festival, she shared the lesser cost with a friend setting up in the musical section, blocks away from the real artwork. Linda was so happy to be able to show her paintings to so many people. Her passion is contagious. As others sold there prints for $10-$25.00, Linda was simply happy to be able to show her work which included acrylic paintings of flowers, scenes with little animals, as well as her famous illustration: LILLY GHERKIN. However, at the time many artists based the day's success on the number of items sold, often inquiring as to how many paintings Linda had sold; which was none- over two days. Talking and sharing ideas constantly for two days with admirers was all she had hoped for. This was evident by the fantastic and overwhelming glow on her face. She also prepared and offered postcards displaying some of her art and contact information. To our surprise and her delight, offers came in within days for her acrylic flower pictures for $200.00 per painting. How happy she was to know someone loved and desired her work. And as her grandmother, a portrait artist said, "Now that you have sold a painting, you are a professional artist". Well...being so passionate about her art, we encouraged her to find out the best ways to "PROMOTE" her art. Linda is a single mother with a beautiful son, 2 years old. Michael was born with MARCUS GUNN PHENOMENON, which requires repeated eye surgeries from a specialist at Philadelphia Children's Hospital. Thanks to "Angel Flight", Linda and Michael have been transported for the surgeries which will be ongoing . What am I getting at?...Being a college student, working, caring for her child and having no immediate family locally to depend on... leads me to try to help her in some way, in order that she be able to fulfill one of her longest and greatest passions.. I am attempting to find various means and venues for Linda to display her artwork..To help her get the type of Website completed that she wants.. As a nurse, I don't know about marketing, promoting, website buliding …so I thought I could share this story with all of you...and ask for advice..If you all have "ANY" thoughts or suggestions as to the "HOW" to best get her art work viewed or "HOW" she can complete her website or if you can share you own experiences ….We would be SO Grateful!...Thanks, Fran
