I currently have a computer that backs up a mysql database everyday to a folder on it harddrive.
I am in need of a way for the folder in which all the backed up data is stored to automatically sync with a pen drive thats plugged into the computer
Any ideas would be great
Windows or Linux?
Windows xp forgot about that
Shouldn't be a hard task then to create a bat or cmd file that contains a contains a statement similar to:
xcopy sourceDir penDirectory /S
and then schedule it as part of your backup or to run at certain time of the day using the Windows scheduler.
Never thought of a bat file with windows scheduler.
Thanks will set it up tonight
Do not forget that a pen drive can be set up to "Autorun" on insert... So set up the pen drive to auto run a bat file on the pen drive to do as previous poster has suggested, IMHO is a neater method of skinning the same cat.
I would of set it up like that but the person I am making the system for will forget to put the USB pen in to copy db backups.
So he is going to keep it in all the time and all it is going to be used for is to store the db backups
Then let them, then they learn from the serious mistake of forgetting.
How can i delete ii in my pen drive and partition? When i double click my pen drive and my hdd partitions its opening on another window.b`coz it has Autorun.inf file.i want to delete it.how can i do it?please help me about this matter.
Disable autorun (in explorer, right click on the drive, select properties and go to the Auotplay tab). Then you'll be able to get to the autorun.inf and modify or delete it.
