I'm a relatively new developer, so will try to explain the problem in the best way I can.
I've built a number of sites but having problems with one which imports products via cron to update the site on a regular basis. There are quite a few crons (150+) This all works...to a degree. As in it brings the site to a standstill on occasion and seems to slow it down overall, presumably because this method is eating up a lot of resource.
My question is: what's the best way to take the load of the server in these kind of instances? Is there a better way than the current method? Is there some way of calling the API so the products and data appear on the site but without having to actually import the products? If so, what are the implications of this? (Any coding for this will need to be in php in the main)
Or is it just a case that more server resources are required to do something like this.
Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.
