Quora deletes digest params in URL?

I clicked a link in their weekly newsletter – https://www.quora.com/?digest_story=75415435 – then noticed that the ?digest_story=75415435 part quickly gets removed from the URL in the address bar (while/after loading the page)… I haven’t checked the JavaScript yet to see if that’s causing it (hello rabbit-hole), but I’m kind of wondering why a website owner would want this, and how to go about it in the most effective ways…

It seems kind of silly to do, because I wanted to copy and share the link (and the email link is of course this giant tracking URL), so I’m guessing Quory just wants it only shared through their buttons… I’ve just never run into a project that wanted the URL changed like that (without redirection anyways), and I’m not sure why the browser even allows that considering the URL isn’t accurate anymore.
