Hi, I am trying to create a school website. I have uploaded drupal files (Drupal 8.5.4) to the school network server using filezilla. When I type on a browser the url of my site I get the message "Your PHP installation is too old. Drupal requires at least PHP 5.5.9. See the system requirements page for more information." I have no idea how to install php on my computer. Can I create o local host environment installing XAMPP on my computer or this is not the right way for my case? Is there a tutorial or youtube video for installing php 5.5.9?
Thanks in advance
You install the version of PHP you need at the server and this is something that the admin has to do.
What version of PHP is it? If its not the latest version then you have security consideration to take in to account and update the parser.
I would suggest using php7 since 5.5.9 was released in 2013 and support for it ended in 2016. If the files are uploaded to a school server, you'll want to contact your school server administrator to make sure php7 is installed on that server.
