I am going to network my home this weekend.

Do I assign IP addresses or will the software do it automatically?
Is it better to have a static or dynamic address on a network?
Would both computers have the same address whether it was static or dynamic?

My router is capable of being a DHCP server.

Sorry, if these questions are stupid. I'm just trying to learn more.

I use linksys and havent had any issues. The router will assign P addresses within your network. Unless you have a network app that needs it (and sometimos for port forwarding) static IP is neccesary, but otherwise it doesnt matter. Not sure what youre getting at with the last one.[/COLOR][/font]
