To add to JayM's list:
Do you want to make a profit from this?
While this seems to be an obvious question, from experience, many people forget they're in a business.
What's your ideal profit margin?
Another obvious question -- perhaps. It never ceases to amaze me how many people (this group of people included me when I first started out) think only to cover their costs and forget about the profit margin.
What's the lowest you can go without going to 'cover costs only'?
A third dummy question that shouldn't need to be considered, but catches people out. From experience, observation & study, I suggest deciding on the lowest you're willing to go without hitting 'minimal charge' (aka, 'cover costs only').
What is your total estimated cost for the project?
Include not only the major items (e.g., logo creation, number of pages, etc.), but also stuff like research investment, purchasing stock photos (or similar), hours invested (in finding the right stuff the client wants), travel, lunch meetings, ad-hoc change requests that weren't in the original agreement, etc.
And I'm now out of thoughts for questions like this. Lol!
Hope this helps some!
Take care,
Snitch.
