I've a few questions refering to a CMS system.
Not so much "which on to use" but rather, what to do.
Now, lets say that you have a customer who you're designing sites for.
THis customer wants to log on to some sort of admin page, where he/she
-Message the web developer working on their site,
-Edit the general site layout (no HTML or wysiwyg, because if they do, then who
need a developer?)
-Add new pages (customize the general look, and body content).
-view an invioce, of somesort.
Oh, and they're NOT actually editing the site, thier editing the content
that the developers puts on a site...
I was originally going to use a CMS, but I was absolutely confused beyond
any form commonly fathomed! So, I wrote my own, it's very simple, mostly PHP, and it only took 2 days.
Anyway, my question is:
Should I just go with a CMS and try to customize it? Or should I spend
a couple more days working on my project trying to get it professional and secure?
Which brings me to my next question: if I should go with a CMS, which one best suites this purpose?
phpNuke is too bulky, more work to customize it.
phpWebSite doesn't seem to do what I'm looking for.
webSiteBaker is kinda nice, I didn't know how to customize it though.
XOOPS, seems complex...
Anyway, if this is the correct area to post this in, and you actually
have the heart to help me through this perplexed state, then
PLEASE PLEASE help me.
Oh, and the English language doesn't contain enough words to accuratly
express my gratitude. THank you so much... in advance.
