Keys (so I can actually get to where I'm going...) 5. Pen/Paper (in case inspiration strikes at an inopportune moment) 6. Small bag full of hair crap (ie: clips, rubber bands, head bands, etc.) 7. My purse (for which to keep all the above crap in)

Yup... definetly a girl.
Wallet keys notepad pen
The notepad and pen are for any ideas I might get. I even keep it by my bed at night in case I wake up with the answer to a programming problem I was having earlier.
Now in my car, there is usually lots of junk: disc golf equipment, bats, baseballs, softballs, at least 2 soccer balls, baseball gloves, spare clothes, electric razor, other random items and of course the usual car stuff. Can you tell I have a 14 year old son and coach various sports for him?
hmmmm I think that getting codes in our dreams is somthing that we all share about it,,,,, I'll think to follow indirect advice to all of us (Keeping pen and a notebook) near to me while sleeping,,,,,,,, great persons do so, who not us
I don't use a notebook and pen, my inspiration always seams to stick with me untill a few week's later...
Although I should have mensioned that I do need a pen for use with a notepad. And I recently decided to bring my pen drive with me, it means that even while at college I can use various abstract browsers and the PHP development kit...

Excuse me!?!
For me it's just the four things:
Wallet
Mobile phone
Knife
House keys
Well, it's more than four things, but unlike Nick I'm not going to start naming clothes. :p
I am going to be getting a butterfly knife soon, so lets put that on my list.

a butterfly knife wow wonderful, but i thought programmers dosen't need this stuff for defending themselves, simply because they don't have any problems with others, BECAUSE THEY ARE LIVING IN ANOTHER WORLD,,,,, something like welcome to the matrix neu

what makes you think that we cant just phase ourselves in and out? [plays wierd music from doctor who...]
There's nowt wrong wiht carrying round a knife. Of course, today I went out and realised I'd left mine at home, D'oH!
Usually keys, wallet and cell phone. If I'm planning on getting some work done while I'm out, add laptop, notepad, and pen.
