this is an old thread, I know, but I have a question that directly relates to it. I am trying to make a bracket similar to these, but distinctly different. Round one seeds look like this (H01 = Competition #1, with three seeds competing for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd)
H01 - 10,26,39
H02 - 09,25,40
H03 - 08,24,41
H04 - 07,23,42
H05 - 06,22,43
H06 - 05,21,44
H07 - 04,20,45
H08 - 01,17,48
H09 - 02,18,47
H10 - 03,19,46
H11 - 11,27,38
H12 - 12,28,37
H13 - 13,29,36
H14 - 14,30,35
H15 - 15,31,34
H16 - 16,32,33
Then 1st place move to Round 3, and 2nd and Third move to Round 2, where the seeds are matched up as follows:
H01 - 01,16
H02 - 02,15
and so on, 8 comps total. My question is fairly simple - how do I figure out the equation that assigns the top seed in Round 2 to seed #1 - meaning, their seed could be 16, but if they are the highest seed inn Round 2, then they occupy the top seed for that round. Confused here.
Thanks
