This is probably a stupid question, but am I better off learning how to use CSS properly, or can I get away with using flash?
I had a go with some CSS tutorials, reworked my index page, and was pleased with myself, but it wouldn't validate, and I don't understand why.
My brother suggested that I save my title banner as a flash file, my navigation as another flash file, and then each page's main content as individual flash files, and then have a html doc for each page, which just links to the title & nav files, and whichever main page info I need.
That sounds very neat, & easy to keep the html clean, but are there drawbacks? Will it take much longer to load than just using html & css? Will it validate?
I think that whatever I try to do will be an improvement on my hashed together illegal html table-based current website, but I really want to get it right.
Should I persevere with CSS?
